S-3 Viking SLIMs Down to Sundown

One of the Navy’s great aircraft is now on its way out of service after a career spanning nearly 40 years. The S-3 Viking Community is currently perfecting a SLIM (Sundown Logistics Inventory Management) process to keep inventory in alignment with demand as the outstanding S-3 Vikings approach “extinction.”
Cessna to unveil concept Light Sport Aircraft at EAA AirVenture

Cessna Aircraft Company, a subsidiary of Textron Inc., announced it is studying the feasibility of developing and producing a Light Sport Aircraft (LSA). The company plans to display a full scale proof-of-concept aircraft at this year’s Experimental Aircraft Association’s (EAA) annual convention – known as AirVenture – next month in Oshkosh, Wis.
Russian Air Force receives first Mi-28 Night Hunter helicopter

(RIA Novosti) - Russia’s Air Force has received its first Mi-28N Night Hunter serially produced military helicopter, a deputy prime minister told President Vladimir Putin Monday. Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said the helicopter was a militarily and technically superior aircraft to the Mi-24 Hind, which is currently in service.
Boeing Begins Assembling the First 737-900ER

Boeing today began final assembly of the first 737-900ER (Extended Range), the newest member of the world’s most successful single-aisle airplane family. The wings and landing gear shown here are being joined to the 737-900ER fuselage in the Boeing manufacturing facility in Renton, Wash.
